“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.”

Tori Emerick, LPC NCC CCTP

Finding a therapist who truly understands you can feel like an uphill battle. The search for a professional who not only utilizes effective techniques but also makes you feel comfortable and heard can be daunting. At Emerick Therapy Services, we believe that the therapeutic relationship is key to your healing journey.

I, as your therapist, embody a direct, casual, warm, and authentic approach. At times, the use of colorful language may escape my lips, as I believe in the power of raw expression. Our sessions will be a sanctuary where compassion flows freely, providing the safe space you need to heal from trauma.
Healing trauma requires a special touch, one that involves building trust with yourself, re-establishing a sense of safety, finding purpose, shaping your narrative, and ultimately, constructing a life worth living. Each individual's path to recovery is unique, which is why there is no "one size fits all" approach in our therapy sessions.
My dedication lies in treating each client as the magnificent, one-of-a-kind person that they are. Together, we will embark on a journey that may involve various techniques and strategies tailored specifically to your needs. Whether it means teaching you to sit with your emotions without impulsive reactions or dissociation, or even writing letters of rage to your enemies, I am here to support you every step of the way.
So, if you're ready to dive in, take charge of your healing, and embrace an unfiltered and genuine therapeutic experience, I invite you to join me at Emerick Therapy Services. We will navigate the depths of your emotions, uncover the strength within, and create a life that reflects your true self.

Clinical Jargon

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in GA with a Masters in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Georgia. As an intern and associate professional, I trained at Ridgeview Institute working with acute patients in stabilization and partial hospitalization programs focused in mood disorders, addiction, and trauma. My career then led me to private practice where I have deepened my experience in trauma work by treating clients with sexual assault/abuse, childhood abuse, neglect, and moral injury.

I am a humanistic therapist utilizing gestalt, existential, and emotion focused theories. In addition to talk therapy, I also offer brain-based trauma reprocessing approaches including brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. When working with substance abuse, I operate from a harm reduction view point and work with my clients to meet their goals for their substance use. My office is a welcoming space for all identities.
